Created in 2000 and headquartered in Paris, France, Tinubu is an independent software provider and employs 170 people, located in Paris, London, New York, Orlando, Singapore, and Montreal. Its clients represent 30 of the top 60 Credit & Surety underwriters worldwide.

Tinubu history
With an innovative technological approach, Tinubu has become a fintech flagship company. After 20 years, today Tinubu continues to lead in the surety & credit insurance digital transformation.
Founders
Jérôme Pezé and Olivier Placca launched Tinubu Square SA with initial funding of €115k to create a cloud-based SaaS platform for credit risk management.
€3.8m raised for a R&D program
Tinubu raises €3.8m to run an R&D program in partnership with Schlumberger, Sema, Valoris, and Experian.
Oséo Innovation Award
Tinubu raises additional capital in order to accelerate our expansion.
Tinubu receives an award from Oséo Innovation in recognition of the development of the RMC platform.
Tinubu secures €1.5M in funding
Tinubu raises additional funds to further develop the Risk Management Center (RMC) platform.
Recovery Square
Tinubu incorporates Recovery Square,
a debt collection agency.
European Tech Tour (ETT)

Olivier Placca
Co-founder and CEO
As the Co-founder and CEO, Olivier played a major role in expanding Tinubu’s international footprint.
His information systems and digital transformation expertise lead to the development and constant optimization of the Tinubu SaaS platform.
Before co-founding the company in 2000, Olivier had built a strong experience in the design and management of risk assessment, IT systems, and risk information databases for financial institutions, including NatWest, Credito Italiano, Société Générale, and credit insurers such as Euler Group.
Jean-Michel Terny
General Secretary & Chief Financial Officer
Jean-Michel started at Tinubu in November 2022 as Secretary General & Chief Financial Officer. He oversees all support departments, including Finance, Human Resources, and Legal. He also has the mission to assist the CEO and Group Deputy CEO in deciding and implementing Tinubu's financial strategy in interaction with the main Shareholders.
Jean-Michel has more than 20 years of experience in financial management in France and abroad. He held positions such as General Secretary at Société Générale’s Equity Derivatives department, Deputy Chief Financial Officer at Lyxor AM, and CFO at Hoist Finance France. He also was Global Head of Management Information at AXA IM, responsible for accompanying AXA IM’s management board in building an ambitious 3-year strategic plan and conducting major M&A projects.
Throughout his career, Jean-Michel has built a track record in transforming and scaling organizations in various environments.
Jean-Michel holds a master’s degree in Strategic Management from HEC Paris and a master’s degree in Engineering from the École Nationale des Mines de Douai.
Morgan Franc
Chief Operations Officer
Morgan Franc joined Tinubu in April 2023 as its new Chief Operations Officer, overseeing the Products, Technology, and Professional Services teams. Working with his teams, his mission is to build state-of-the-art SaaS solutions creating high value for customers while delivering top-notch services at and after the onboarding phase.
Morgan spent 14 years in various leadership roles in large international groups (General Electric, BCG) as well as smaller French companies.
Specifically, from 2015 to 2019, as the CEO of Prodways Life, he built the entire SaaS division and scaled up the activity from zero to $20m in revenue. Then, up to March 2023, he held the Customer Director position at TLD, a mid-sized industrial company in Ground Support Equipment. He was, in particular, responsible for accelerating the development and adoption of software solutions in post-sales operations, which included the successful development of a new telemetric system enabling TLD customers to monitor real-time the usage of their GSE units.
Morgan graduated from HEC Grandes Ecoles and holds an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Stéphane Bachschmidt
Chief Services Officer
Stéphane is running Tinubu’s operations since 2017. He has accompanied the development of the group for the last 15 years and managed all large trade-credit digitalization projects.
With 10 years past experience (Euler Hermes, Teletech) in risk analysis, audit, corporate finance, and project management incl. M&A, Stephane has developed proficient skills in organization and team management which were key to supporting our strong development these last years.
Stéphane holds an Executive MBA from Dauphine & ESG UQAM Universities (Paris & Montreal) and bachelor’s degrees in Finance and International Relationships from Dauphine and Sciences Po Paris.
Stephan Mignot
EVP CRO Americas
Stephan Mignot has been part of the Tinubu team since 2015 and is now the Executive Vice President, Chief Revenue Officer of Americas. Based in New York, Stephan drives growth and expands Tinubu’s presence across the Americas. He works closely with clients to understand their unique surety and trade credit needs and implement digital solutions that help them manage risks and improve business operations.
With over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, Stephan brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his EVP Chief Revenue Officer role. Before joining Tinubu, Stephan partnered with a management consulting firm specializing in financial services. He managed consulting assignments with global financial institutions, including HSBC, JP Morgan, and Citi. Throughout his career, he has built a reputation for delivering exceptional results and driving innovation in the surety and trade credit space.
Stephan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Paris Dauphine and an MBA in Finance from Baruch College, City University of New York.
Scott Edwards
Chief Operations Officer, Tinubu Surety
Scott joined Tinubu in April 2023 as the Surety Chief Operations Officer. He oversees the Client Services, Product, and Engineering departments, aiming at delivering innovative solutions and executing the Tinubu Surety vision.
Scott has more than 25 years of experience leading startup and enterprise SaaS organizations. He started his career as a software developer in the ’80s and was later a founder at OutStart, where he was responsible for the portfolio of learning technology solutions. In 2012, when OutStart was acquired by IBM, Scott was responsible for the strategic product direction of IBM’s Smarter Workforce initiative. Since then, he has held positions at the C-Level, as an EOS Integrator, and as a product leader in highly regulated industries, including public safety.
Scott holds a degree from the University of Miami.
