From 2010 to 2014, Hamid was CEO of Unify Inc. (previously Siemens Enterprise Communications). Prior to that, he served as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Chairman of the Executive Operating Board at Deutsche Telekom Group. He was previously the CEO at T-Mobile International, and its global CTO. He was also the Chairman and head of the Investment Committee at T-Venture, a $500M venture fund and several successful investments.
Hamid began his career at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory as a Telemetry Engineer, and at Bell Communications Research (Bellcore) as a Member of Technical Staff heading its Advanced Intelligent Network (AIN) laboratories. He also worked at PrimeCo PCS where he helped launch the first 2G cellular service in the US. After PrimeCo, Hamid was Executive Vice President, CTO and CIO of Teligent Inc., a publically listed wireless Competitive Local Exchange Carrier (CLEC) in the US.
Hamid is currently a board member at Vonage, a cloud Unified Communications company and at BlackPoint Cyber, a cyber security solution provider to the US government and commercial enterprises where he also serves as the Chairman. He is a also member of the Technical Advisory Board at Delphi Automotive.
He holds a BS degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) and an MS from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
